Experian is celebrating the one-year anniversary of The Legacy League Game Show™, a groundbreaking, high-energy, interactive event designed to educate and engage young adults in financial literacy. The main program within the B.A.L.L. for Life™ initiative, the game show combines the excitement of trivia and audience participation in a competition where students face off against their peers from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), testing their knowledge about credit and money matters.

Forty percent of consumers under the age of 25 are credit invisible, which disproportionately affects communities of color (26% of Hispanic and 28% of Black consumers, compared to 16% of white and 16% of Asian consumers). The Legacy League Game Show™ fosters a deeper understanding of credit, debt management, and overall financial wellness. Close to 100% of attendees surveyed say they gained new knowledge from the experience.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate the one-year anniversary of The Legacy League Game Show™ and its positive impact on young consumers across the country,” said Raudy Perez, senior director of external diversity, equity and inclusion partnerships. “While I was growing up, we didn’t talk about money matters in my household; I know first-hand that normalizing and modernizing the conversation about money and credit for young people is key to financial literacy and generational wealth building. By blending the excitement of a game show with real-world financial lessons, we’ve created a unique experience that makes learning about credit and finances feel exciting and relevant to people’s everyday lives.”
The Legacy League Game Show™ marked its one-year anniversary where it debuted in 2023: at EntreprenUTSA at the University of Texas San Antonio, for which Experian was a lead sponsor. The show has traveled to 10 universities and events in the U.S. including the National Urban League 2024 convention, UnidosUS Education Summit, Morgan State and Shaw Universities. Special guests have joined the fun, including rapper and college basketball standout Flau’jae, comedian and actor Mike Merrill, Louisiana State University wide receiver Chris Hilton, Jr. and Grammy-nominated D Smoke.
“The Legacy League Game Show™, powered by Experian’s B.A.L.L. for Life program, has transformed how the National Urban League attendees engage with financial literacy content,” said Kristian Buchanan Newman, vice president of Partnerships Activations for the National Urban League. “This dynamic, interactive experience has entertained and empowered participants to take control of their financial futures in a modern way. Experian has redefined how we talk about credit and wealth-building, creating lasting impact and meaningful connections for our movement.”
“The Legacy League Game Show™ is an amazing innovative, high energy, fun, impactful way to teach credit to young people, and the older generation as well. The integration of music, colors, entertainers, and games that students see on television, along with the prizes and the technical learning is extremely engaging and long lasting. This is a model for how to teach anything to Gen Z and other generations,” said Gwen Garnett, executive director of the Center for Financial Advancement at HomeFree-USA.
In 2025, The Legacy League Game Show™ will continue its tour at schools and events across the United States including:
- #IYKYK Pitch Competition (If You Know You Know) in partnership with HomeFree-USA
- University of Illinois in partnership with Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE)
- UnidosUS National Conference
