As part of this strategic partnership, APJII is enhancing coverage of the Indonesia Internet Exchange (IIX) in Greater Jakarta by launching a new IIX node at BDx Indonesia’s CGK 3A campus in Southern Jakarta. This initiative aims to establish the campus as the digital hub for internet traffic exchange, thereby boosting the resilience and efficiency of the region's digital infrastructure. The presence of IIX at CGK 3A campus will provide a platform for developing a carrier-neutral interconnection ecosystem in Indonesia, addressing the high bandwidth and low latency demands of modern applications.
BDx Indonesia’s CGK3A campus is specifically tailored for AI inferencing and is poised to accelerate AI capabilities in the country. Establishing IIX at the AI inferencing data center will enable optimized, direct, and high-speed connectivity between the data center and various networks, reducing latency and improving real-time data processing. It will enhance the responsiveness of AI models, and offer peering opportunities with other AI ecosystem partners, fostering faster data sharing and better integration.
Indonesia's internet penetration has rapidly risen to 79.5%, according to the 2024 APJII survey, fueled by a young and tech-savvy population. E-commerce remains the dominant force in the digital economy, making up a huge portion of digital services revenue. The country's data center market is witnessing significant expansion, and this growth is propelled by ongoing digital transformation efforts, including government initiatives like "Making Indonesia 4.0," and the rising adoption of cloud computing, IoT, and AI technologies. To support this burgeoning digital economy, a reliable digital infrastructure is a must.
"In the wake of Indonesia’s digital revolution, our alliance with APJII is not just timely but imperative. While BDx offers the most interconnected digital infrastructure mesh across the country with a portfolio of 59 colocation facilities and edge sites, APJII is a cornerstone of Indonesia’s Internet ecosystem. This collaboration is more than a partnership; it’s a synergy aimed at bridging the digital divide, underscoring our common commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s digital backbone," said Sujit Panda, COO of BDx Data Centers.
"The partnership with BDx Data Centers reflects our focus on optimizing internet traffic, improving routing efficiency, and advancing Indonesia's digital infrastructure's overall quality and security. By joining hands, we intend to pave the way for a sustainable and resilient digital future," stated Muhammad Arif, Chairman of APJII.
APJII has over 1,000 internet service providers and more than 3,000 users, committed to enhancing the digital landscape in Indonesia. Their efforts aim to deliver high-quality internet services to the community, aligned with Indonesia's 2045 Digital Vision.
