FOX News Channel’s (FNC) chief political anchor Bret Baier will conduct a wide-ranging interview with President Donald Trump during the FOX SUPER BOWL LIX PREGAME show on Sunday, February 9th in the 3 PM/ET hour. The pre-taped interview will take place at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, FL and will focus on the changes the Trump administration has enacted since the Inauguration and the first 100 days of his presidency. Additional portions of the interview will air during the Monday, February 10th edition of Special Report with Bret Baier (6-7 PM/ET) and will publish online on FOXNews.com. This marks Baier’s first one-on-one interview with the president since June 2023.
As chief political anchor and anchor and executive editor of Special Report with Bret Baier, Baier has played a pivotal role in coverage of every major political event since joining FNC as an Atlanta-based reporter in 1998. During the 2024 presidential election, he interviewed both Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris and hosted a town hall with then-candidate Trump. Additionally, Baier co-anchored the network’s Democracy 2024 coverage of all political events and breaking news, including election night, the Democratic National Convention, the Republican National Convention and Super Tuesday, among others. From the start of the conventions through election night, FNC was the highest-rated network in all of television and its Democracy 2024 coverage was routinely the most watched in all of cable and broadcast television. Special Report has averaged 3.5 million viewers and 422,000 in A25-54 in 2025 to date, beating CNN and MSNBC combined. FNC's premier newscast is also watched by more democrats and independents than any other 6 PM/ET program on cable news. Baier also established the hit Common Ground segment this past election cycle, featuring political leaders from across the aisle discussing the issues of the day with the goal of finding middle ground. Common Ground has featured Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL), Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD) and Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) as well as Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK), among others. He is also host of FOX News Audio’s “The Bret Baier Podcast,” which includes Common Ground and The All-Star Panel.
Throughout recent election cycles, Baier has moderated primary debates and town halls with candidates across the political spectrum, including then-candidate Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), former HUD Secretary Julian Castro, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), and former mayor Michael Bloomberg. He has also secured interviews with influential global leaders, including Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bi Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, then-President Barack Obama, then-President George W. Bush, then-Vice President Dick Cheney, among others. A six-time New York Times bestselling author, Baier is the recipient of the 2024 Horatio Alger award and the 2017 Sol Taishoff Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism.
